KLESF 2017
The Kuala Lumpur
Engineering Science Fair (KLESF) is an initiative that aims to promote interest
in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) among primary and
secondary school students.The KLESF was held from 3 - 5 November 2017 at MINES International Exhibition and Convention Centre (MIECC).
Mushroom Research
Centre, University of Malaya (MRC) has participated in KLESF
2017 and in collaboration with the Akademi Sains Malaysia -Young
Scientists Network Malaysia (ASM-YSN), to educate younger generations on
the science of the mushrooms.
“Know your mushroom”. Dr. Tan Yee Shin (ISB, UM) introduced several mushroom
species to students and their families. She also gave some brief information on
the requirements for mushroom cultivations.
“Mushroom puzzle”. Students were given hands-on activity in which
they identify different mushroom species and grouped them based on their
categories
